Melbourne, Wednesday. Both branches of the Legislative have passed a Supply Bill for £800,000. Carlotta Patti leaves San Francisco on the 22nd November for a tour through the colonies. Sydney, Wednesday. The debate on Sir Henry Parkes' resolutions advocating reform in the powers and constitution of the Legislative Council is proceeding. Sir Deas Thomson, K.C.M.G., late Chancellor of the Sydney University, died to-day. The prorogation of Parliament is postponed till next week. Brisbane, Wednesday. Mr Harding has been appointed puisne Judge vice Judge Lilley promoted to the Chief Justiceship.
