OPENING OF PARLIAMENT.

Parliament was opened by Commission consisting of Colonel Whitmore, Sir Dillon Bell, and Major Richmond. The Premier proposed Mr O'Rorke as Speaker, and Major Atkinson seconded. Both referred in the highest terms of euiogium. He was elected unanimously, and warmly applauded when returning thanks for the compliment paid liim. Mr Whitaker congrtaulated Mr O'Rorke, and spoke in the most complimentary manner of his career. The House then adjourned until two o'clock on Tuesday next
