GOODS DELIVERED TO ALL PARTS OF THE CITT NOTICE. PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT TTNDER the Distinguished Patronage of U his Majesty the King of Italy, at Borne, according to communication received from the Consul-Get eral for Italy, at Melbourne, upon inftruction« frcm tbe Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of our Eucal.i ptus Extract. So far as tbe committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious ; but as the qualities of both of tbe products are in many cas-.s directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the publio attention to the following facts :— The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect npon the sfein. Any bli&tering brought i n by the application ot a medicament must increase inflammation, and it is therefore evident tbat in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, croup, sprains, etc.. the curative power of our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair t«e diseased. The truth of our assertion io founded upon the fact tbat tbe oil is a resinous produce equivalent to coma on turpentine, its market value bting about three shillings one pound weight ; our extract cocsi^tsof the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its effects, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. 'Our extract, the genuine article is only made up in balf-ounce and one-ounce vials ; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature.
