The Nelson Evening Mail. FRIDAY, JULY 4, 1879.

His Lordship the Bishop of Nelson returned from the West Coast yesterday overland after an absence of some weeks. We understand that the Rev T. A. Bowdetij at one time a resident in the Moutere, and who for some years kept a school in Nelson, has been appointed to the Incumbency of Greymouth, rendered vacant by the death of the Rev G. T. N, Watkins. The new steamer is to be put into the water at ten o'clock to-morrow. It is to be hoped that the launch will be accomplished as successfully as was the land transport.
