CORRESPONDENCE.

To the Editor op Tne « Evening Mail."

Sib— Will you oblige me with a small space iv your paper, as I consider myself an injured man. Iv the case of Mercott v. Rowe, the latter made a statement in Court that I made use of the word " nag." I deny making use of any such word, as I understood the girl perfectly to mean that the man stuck her up, audit was quite plain for him to understand also. When he was asked how he could account for my saying that I saw him pull her back when she was trying to mount her horse, he said, "I can only account for it in ons way, and that is he tells a lie." I can account for him denying the truth in more ways than one, but let one suffice now, but it did not suit his purpose to acknowledge the truth in this case. He also makes a statement that he did not snatch the bridle from her hand, but simply led the horse away to a convenient place for her to get on. I say he did snatch the bridle and got possession of the horse by main force, and was leading it Jrom a place where Bbc could conveniently get up. It is quite plain that one of us has told an untruth, which amounts to nothing less thau perjury, a thing that should be well looked into. J should be most happy to show tbe place where it all occurred, which I think would prove who told the lie. I am, &c, _. W. Stratford. Hope, June 12.
