A tough looking citizen walked into; one of the Justices' courts the other; afternoon very much intoxicated, and j requested that he be allowed to swear! off drinking for a year. His Honor j obligingly put him through the solemn j motions, and the convert, with a con -; fused rumble of well-meant but pro- 1 fanely, expressed resolutions, stumbled j out of the courtroom.
