BANK DIRECTORS' LIFE IN PRISON.
(Glasqeio Herald.) Since their removal tn Ayr Prison, the City of Glasgow Bank directors have experienced much the pntne routine as when confined in Dukp^ Bfreet Prison. On Surda)', Inoes Wright, Taylor, and Stewart nMpnifed divine service in the prison, which was conducted hy Mr Duncan, the chaplain. The service, which commenced at 9.15 a.m., &Dd terminates about 10, is conducted in the corridor of the west or main veiog of the prison. The prisoners are not, r.a in Glasgow, separated from one another aa at service. Portable forms ere ranged along the - icorridor, each of which is 'capable of Beating four persons; tlie male prisoners are accommodated on one e\ ?e of the corridor, nod the U males (excluded from the view of the males) on the other, while the chnplain ehnds on n email plcfform in thd centre. Although aeated close to oce r.nothr-r, the prisoners are sirictly prohibitel from Bpeek'mg a single word to their .neighbours. Oo Sunday upwards of 120 prisoners btteoried the service. All of them, of course, wore the prison dreae, and, except hy the governor and wardene, the. bank directors were ucracognisable. loglis and Salmond, who are Btill cot Sued to the "hospital/ although somewhat improved in health, did not attend fhe service. The "hospital" is ft moderately-sized room with a fire \u it, Since their removal here, Inglis and Salmond have been the only occupants of it, but in the* event of any of the other inmates of the : establishment being ordered to the "hoepiUl," the privacy o( the two gentlemen will be at a a end. The directors are confined in the west wing ' of the prison. The three directors wb!o are not in " hospital " Appear to be in good health. Their fere is exactly the same as the other prisoners, and thqy have never aeked anything in the shape of a favour from any of the warders.
