[Per Hero at Auckland.] 4 Hobart Town, May 22. The Legislative Council almost unanimously agreed to a resolution not to grant more than six months supplies, and have appointed a Select Committee to consider and report upon the financial affairs of the colony. The Ministers will not accept six months' supply notwithstanding the inconvenience to Civil servants whose salaries are unpaid, but the general impression is that they must yield. Brisbane. ihe schooner Annie has arrived at Cook Town, and reports matters being in a very disturbed state in eastern New Guinea. The schooner was driven away from the Leocide Group by the natives, and the mission station there was besieged but the natives retreated without killing the teacher. While the schooner was at Dinner Island 110 hostile canoe3 arrived with natives intending to attack the mission station. The Friendly natives, however, came to the teachers' assistance and both parties went away.
