KILLED BY A METEOR.

The i Indianopolts Journal gives the following particulars of Ihe remarkable occurrence at Covington, Ind , of which the telegraph has made announcement —the killing of Leonides Grover by a meteor: — Mr Grover was a widower, living on bis farm with a married daughter and her husband. Tuesday evening, 12ih January, the marriel couple had heen absent on a visit to some neighbor?, and upon returning at a late hour, eutering tbe house, found everything, to all appearancp, in such order, end supposing that Mr Grover had already retired, went to bed themselves. Next morniog the daughter, hevirg prepared breakfast, went Jo call her father, and wus horrified to find him lying upon his shattered bed, a mutilated corpse. Her screams brought the husband quickly to the bedroom, and inspection disclosed a ragged opening in tbe roof, directly over the breast of tbe unfortunate m.n, which was torn through as if by a cannon sho*, end extended downward through the bedding and floors, holes showing the direction taken by the deadly missile. Subsequent search revealed (he fact that the awful calamity was caused by the fall of a meteoric atone, and the atone iia.lf, pyramidal io shape and weighing 20lbs and a few ounces avoirdupois, and stained with blood, was unearthed from a depth of nearly five feet, thus showing the fearful impetus with which it struck the dwelliog. The position of the corpse, with other surroundings, wben found, showed thafc tbe victim was asleep when stricken, and death to him was painless,
