The May made another start for Wanganui this morning The Lady Barkly sailed for Goldeu Bay last night. The Wallace sailed for Wanganm last sight. The Kennedy left Greymouth for Westport this morning. The Mnrray leaves for Wellington direct at 5 o'clock this afternoon. The Lyttelton left to-day for Blenheim. She returns direct to Nelson with a cargo of sheep and grain. The Arawata, with the Suez mail, leaves Melbourne for New Zealand to-day. She trill be due here on the 31st inst. The Croydon Lass sailed thi9 morning for ' Waitapu, there to load with timber for some Southern port. There was quite an exodus of small craft this morning, the masters of which took advantage of the break in the weather to put to sea. The Wellington arrived at Wellington this morning. She rem ains there until Friday afternoon, when she sails for Picton and .Nelson. We understand that the steam yacht Torea will arrive here from Picton during uext week. She comes for the purpose of being cleaned and painted. Tho steamer Grafton has nearly com- ' pleted her repairs at Wellington. Her new engines have been placed in position, and she sails for West Coast ports at the latter end of this week. The Taiaroa left Onehunga at 8.40. this morning, will arrive here to-morrow night, and sail for Picton and Wellington at 9.30. am. on Friday. The^Government have appointed a Eoyal Commission, consisting of Commander Hewitt, R.N., Captain Rose, of the New Zealand Shipping Company, and Captain Cross, harbor master of Nelson, to enquire into the circumstances attending the loss of the steamer Taupo at Tauranga. Great dissatisfaction was expressed at the result of the formal inquiry, which was conducted by the Marine Department, against the head of which serious charges have been made relative to the shifting of Home buoys at Tauranga after the Taupo had been wrecked.
