New Zealand of the past and New Zealand of the present are two very different things. Inthe early days, when all was prosperity, and the denizen of the forest breathed the pure air of Heaven, the human frame and constitution had all the chance of robust health; but now tbat thickly populated cities and towns have sprung up, with the attendant bad habits and worse drainage, a remedy is called for that will counteract all the baneful effects of the existing and growing evils.
