London, April 17. Lord Derby has seceded from the Conservative party. The wool auctions commence on the 6th May. The arrivals to date amount to 250,000 bales, and the total will probably be 3.30,000. The number to be offered will be restricted to 300,000. Sr. Petersburg, .April 17. The name of the would-be assassin of the Emperor of Russia is ascertained to be Betrum Solsrifli. a schoolmaster. The Emperor, in replying to congratulations, announced that extraordinary repressive measures would be taken.
