CITY OF NELSON. Town Clerk's Office, 18th March, 1879. NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to Section 140, of The Municipal Corporations Act, 187G, of the following proposal to raise a SPECIAL LOAN for the City of Nelson : 1. The Works proposed to be undertaken are as follows : — (1.) Continuation of Trafalgar-street sewer along Halifax-street to Wai-mea-street sewer, including formation of street. (2.) Formation of Halifax-street from Waiuiea-street to llaveu-road, including channel culvert. (3.) Building culvert from present open ditch in St. Vincent-street through to Haven-road. (4.) Continuation of Waimea-st. sewer up Waimea-st. and Waimea-road to cross culvert leading from Section 640. (5.) Making up St. Viucent-st. from Gloucester-st. to Hainpden-st. (6.) Laying drain up Bridge-st. from present termination of Bridge- st. sewer. # (7.) Laying drains up New and Churchstreets. (8.) Laying an invert in present open ditch from the end of Waimea-st. sewer for a distance of 15 chains. (9.) Widening Haven-road from the Pilot Station to Mary Ann-street, including contributions towards opening up road from Mary Ann-st. to Stoke. (10.) Forming Waimea-st. from Brontist. to Van Diemen-st., including cutting. (11.) Construction of sewer in Colling-wood-street, from Brougham-st, to Bridge-street. (12.) New bridge over Mjiitaiat Colling-wood-stroet. (13.) New bridge over Brook-st. stream at Nile-street. (14.) Forming Russell-st., including cutting. (15.) W idening and draining Washington roa (16.) Building sewer and laying drain in Nile-street East, (17.) Formation of Trafalgar-st. South, including cutting and fitting. 2. The sum proposed to be borrowed to carry out the above works is £10,000. 3. It is proposed to pledge, as security for such Loan, a Special Rate of Three Pence in the Pound upon the rateable value of all property within the City. H. V. GULLY, 885— 4t Town Clerk.
