In tbe Gazette in published a despatch to the Ix>ndon Agents of Cape Colony, dated Ist March, announcing that messengers from Cetewayo had arrived asking for a suspension of hostilities and the resumption of negotiations with the Cape Government. Cetewayo states that he never intended to fight, and that tbe fighting at Isandalo was caused by the British attack. In the House of {Commons to-day, Sir S. in the meantime orders bad been given for an advance on Cabul. The Viceroy of India, however, had been instrucied to make no important movement without the authority of the British Government. April 5. The Burmese Prince Nysingar having returned to Burmah in disguise the Chief Commissioner of Brilhh Burmah has sent him back to Calcutta. At the University boat race to-day Cambridge won easily.
