The Pelorus leaves for Havelock at six this evening. The Murray is detained at Westport by a heavy sea and a N.W. gale. Tbe Kennedy arrived at Westport yesterday morning, and is now detained there. The Lyttelton arrived at Blenheim from Nelson on Saturday afternon. The Wallace leaves at six o'clock this evening for Wanganui. The Arawata, with the Suez mail, arrived at the Bluff early this morning. She will ! reach here on Saturday. | The Taiaroa leaves Wellington this afternoon, will arrive here to-morrow morning, I and sail for Picton and Wellington by the aame tide at 2 p.m. The Croydon Lass arrived from Lyttelton yesterday morning, after a smart passage havmg left there on Thursday last. She brings a general cargo. The Union Company are to be applied to by the merchants of Brisbane to allow one of their steamers to run between that port and Auckland during the summer months. Captain Underwood, the popular commander of the Arawata, goes home by the Orient steamer John Elder for the purpose of bringing out the Union Company's new steamer Rotomahana. Captain Carey of the Rotorua, succeeds Captain Underwood in command of the Arawata. The barque Queeenslander, a vessel which u not altogether unknown here, is missing, being nearly 40 days out from Newcastle to Auckland, and it is feared that she is lost. ELM.S. Emerald, the vessel which brought Sir Hercules Robinson to New Zealand, has only recently arrived on the Australian Station. She is a ship of 12 guns, and 350 h.p. following is a list of the officers :-Captain W. H. Maxwell; lieutenants, A. C. Clarke, H. D. Barry H. Harris, R. G. Giles; naval lieutenant, J.
