COMMERCIAL.
Mr Mabin reports that afc the sale at Mr Charles Harling's farm, Moutere, on Wednesday last, the attendance was large, besides those living in the district where the property is situnted a large number of persons from the adjacent districts and Nelson being present. Tbe land had been divided in lots to suit small farmers and persons desirous of secunng country residences combined with ground suitable for fruit growing. There was a keen competition for several sections of the property, but as the bidding did not reach near their value several were withdrawn. After the sale of land the stock and implements were sold, and fetched tbe following prices:— 4-tooth ewes, in lamb, 8s 6d; 6-tooth ewes, 8s 3d; broken mouth ewes, 6s 6d; lambs, 6s 6d to 7s 3d; Romney Marsh 2-tooth ram, 655 ; fat sheep, 7«; mare, in foal by Bngham Young, £28 10s; foal by Nimrod, £7; mare, four-year old, broken to harness, £19; tip dray, £10; harrows, £3; set of cart harness, £3 ss ; oats, 2s 9d per bushel; oaten sheaves, £2 10a per ton.
