A naval officer, who waa in the Eastern waters with the Duke of Edinburgh, tells of an exciting incident which, we believe, bas not hitherto appeared io print. One night, the officer of tbe watch on board of one of tbe Turkisk men-of-war was surprised by a slight splash under the bows, end, on going to tbe forecastle, to bit. dismay he beheld (he crew of a Russian torpedo boat in the act of fastening one ol those infernal machines to his vessel. It waa a critical moment. Nevertheless, the Turkish cfficer was equal to the occasion.
