CORRESPONDENCE.

To the Editor op the "Evening Mail." Sir,— The New Zealand Rifle Association now being an established fact, will you allow me space in your columns to give the Executive Committee credit for doing much to make it a success, and further to suggest : That for future meetings they should have the ranges at right angies with the background, and tbe distances cornctly and permanently marked, and so cleared that from every shooting distance the extremities of the targets are distinct visible to the competitor in any position; and the camping ground so arranged that in case of rain there would be no chance of any of the tents being flooded : That, for the purpose of encouraging indifferent shots, certain matches should be handicapped, and that points for parades should be discontinued: That matches be fired with one distinctive weapon only, except in a few cases for the comparison of their respective merits : That the catering, if done by tender, should have a "Bill of Fare" specified, and thafc competitors be informed at what rates they can be supplied before they come : That a supply of good water be obtained near the Camp by artesian well or otherwise. The consideration shown by the Bishop in erecting a reading-room aud fitting it with seats and desks, as well with valuable papers and magazines, for the use of visitors, is strongly felt, if not expressed, and his action in this matter will be kindly remembered throughout the length and bre adth of these Islands. Yours, &c , A Visitor.
