Melbourne, Friday. Arrived — Rotorua. In the cricket match the English in their first innings scored 248, and the Victorians 112 for six wickets. Saturday. Autumn Meeting — New Market Handicap: Diomedes l,LeLoup2. Steeplechase: Starlight 1, Prodigious 2. The return cricket match was resumed today. The Victorians in their first innings made 146, and in their second 155. In the English second inniDgs 31 bas been made for four wickets. The latter require 22 to win, with six wickets to fall. Monday. The health of the Marchioness of Normanby is gradually improving. The overland line between Adelaide and Fort Darwin is again interrupted. Sidney, Saturday. Owing to the financial difficulties of the Corporation a series of resolutions recommending the stoppage of all expenditure and the discontinuance of lighting the streets has been tabled for consideration at tbe next meeting. His Excellency Sir Hercules Robinson was entertained at a banquet by the Reform Club last night.' The attendance was large.
