The Peloras left Havelook for Nelson this morning. The Taiaroa leaves for Taranaki and Manukau at five o'clock to-night. The Lyttelton arrived at Blenheim at eight o'clock this morning. She proceeds 10 Wellington and Kekerangu. The Patea leaves Wellington this afternoon, ■will arrive here to-morrow morning, and sail for Patea on Monday afternoon at 5 o'clock. The Wallace arrived at Wellington early this morning. She leaves for Nelson at 5 p.m. to-day, arriving here to-morrow morning and proceeding to Wanganui at 3 o'clock on Monday afternoon. The Kennedy arrived at Greymouth from Westport this morning. She proceeds to Hokitika to-morrow, and leaves there on the return trip on Tuesday morning. The Arawata arrived at Lyttelton to-day, and will reach Wellington to-morrow. Her mails will probably arrive here on Tuesday morning in the Wellington. The Wellington sailed for Picton and Wellington at 5.30 p.m. yesterday, and arrived at the latter port this morning. She leaves there on the return trip at mid-day on Monday, will arrive here on Tuesday morning, snd sail for Pictoa and Wellington by the same tide at 10 a.m. The Ladybird arrived in harbor at 6.30 a.m. to-day. She left Dunedin at 3 p.m., on Wednesday called at Akaroa, and arrived at Lyttelton at 3 p.m. on Thursday; sailed at 8 p.m., and arrived at Wellington at 2.30 p.m. yesterday ; left at 6.45 p.m. and arrived here as above. The Ladybird comes here on a special trip in place of the Arawafa. It is understood that she will now be kept running permanently up the East Coast. Captain Malcolm is in command of her, Mr Newman chief officer, and Mr Syme purser. The Ladybird sails for Wellington direct at 8 a.m. tomorrow, conveying passengers and cargo to the Arawata. The ship Piako arrived at Lyttelton from London via Pernambuco on Wednesday evening last, after a passage of 156 days from London, and 66 from Pernambuco. Of the vBB immigrants who started in the Piako from London 14 put back, returning home from Pernambuco. Five births occurred on the voyage and one death, a lad. All the immigrants arrived in splendid health. The Government propose holding an enquiry on board before the immigrants are landed. The enquiry held by the Consul at Pernambuco as to the cause of the fire resulted favorably to Captain Boyd and the Shipping Company. Messrs Moutray and Crosbie are making rapid progress with the steamer they are building for Messrs Cross and Co. AU the frames have been set up, and a number of the bottom plates fixed. The shell of the vessel is being put together at the back of their foundry, and as soon as everything is got in ship-shape order it will be taken down, and conveyed to opposite the Post Office' •where the Bteamer is to be bnilt. By doing this a considerable amount of labour will be saved, as all the necessary machinery for twisting and bending the various plates" and angle irons is close at hand. Some idea can now be formed of the shape of the steamer, which will be a very pretty vessel, and if the workmanship which is now being put into her is carried out to the finish, as it will be, we can safely say that it will be a difficult matter to find her equal in New Zealand. The engines and boilers are in a forward condition, and are being constructed of the rery best material. # The Murray arrived in harbor this morning at 8 o'clock. She left Nelson at 230 p.m. on Saturday, and went alongside the ship Warwick to embark immigrants for the West Coast, leaving there at 4 p.m.; experienced strong N.W. winds and lumpy sea down the bay, arriving at Westport at 3 p.m. on Sunday; sailed at 6 am. on Tuesday for Hokitika, arriving off there at 4 p.m.; signals being given for crossing attempted to go in, but bumped heavily, and with some difficulty aacceeded. in getting out to sea again; made another attempt on the top of high water, bnt with a similar result. The Murray then steamed for Greymouth, and arrived off the bar there at 930 p.m.,; anchored for the night, and crossed the bar at 6 a.m. next day; coaled, and left at 7 p.m. on Thursday for Westport, arriving thereat 6 o'clock next morning; sailed at 930 for Nelson, arriving here as above.
