The Charles Edward left Westport this morning, will arrive here to-morrow morning, and sail for Wanganui at 8 p.m. same day. The Taiaroa left New Plymouth this morning, will arrive here this evening, and sail for Picton and Wellington at 11 a.m. tomorrow. The Tongoy will probably finish discharging cargo this afternoon. She will then take on board the remainder of her ballast, after which she will proceed to the outer anchorage, where she will remain until Captain Edwards finds a crew— rather a difficult matter at the present time. We understand that it is contemplated by the officers of the Union Company's steamships to erect a monument over the grave -of the late Mr Robert Grant, purser of the ■steamer Taupo, who recently died at Auckland from the effects of sunstroke. The Croydon Lasa arrived in harbor t bis morning from Lyttelton. Captain Curran reports leaving that port on Saturday evening with westerly winds which carried the vessel to the Kaikoras; passed Cape Camp bell on Monday, and off there experienced a N.W. gale, which lasted until Tnesday morning, when it moderated. Stephen's Island was passed at noon yesterday, and light airs carried the vessel up the bay. The Croydon Lass got ashore on the Boulder Bank near the Lighthouse this morning, through the man at the wheel hugging the shore too closely. She was safely get off, however, with tbe assistance of the crew of the pilot boat, when tbe tide made, none the worse for her mishap, and brought into harbor. The Croydon Lass brings a general cargo, consigned to Mr M. Davis.
