WAIMEA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Minnies of the last meeting read and cotilirnied: On the motion of 3Tr siiophard,- secouded by Mr Jlird, it was resolved— That the Cli:tinii;ui he authorised to find proper persons willing to collect the Dog Tax iu the various districts, and request the appointment by the Governor to that office. On the motion of Mr Weils, secouded by Mr Maemahon, it was resolved— That when the Council entrust to a Road Hoard auy money placed at its command for a specific purpose by a vote of the Geueral Assembly, the Council shall, before auy contract is concluded by the said Board, in respect to the carrying out of such purpose, signify its approval of the terms of the contract. On the motion of Mr Shephard, seconded by Mr Phillips, it was resolved— That, subject to the terms of the above resolution, the Suburban North Road Hoard be requested to undertake the expenditure of the sum of £500 voted in " The Immigration and Public Works Appropriation Act, 1878," uuder the head, " Rai Valley Road, County Waimea, £500." On the motion of Mr Bird, seconded by Mr Phillips, it was resolved— That the De putation sent by this Council to the Government, at Wellington, be requested to urge ou the Government the immediate expenditure of the vote No. 56, " Miscellaneous Public Works," namely, " Road, Oronoco to Stanley Brook, £700." Council adjourned to March 20.
