Report on a Sample of Imperial Scbiedaxn Schnapps received from Mr H. J. Hart. We have eubjeeted a ssmpl? of the abovenamed article to & very careful chemical analysis and examination. The results of tba sraalyaia, which are ee forth in a separate report show that thiß spirit is of good strength, practically free from acidity, 2nd thr.t it contains but traces of solid matter in solution. It possesses a delicate and agreeable aroma, and a pure and mild taste. Mr Hart's Schiedam Schnapps is a very superior anide of its class, ia well purified, end ia quite genuine. Sir,— l hove the honor ;to report for yonr icfrrmation that the sample of Imperial Schiedam Schnapps forwarded by you to mo has been submitted to a searching chemical analysis and critical examination, the result of which enables me to etate chat it is the Finest Sample of Schnapps that as yet come under my notice. It has a pare fragrant odonr, end Is absolutely free from any trace of furil or other injurious impurity, and has evidently been distilled from superior rye gr«in, olways used instead of malt in the production of the choicest qualities of Schnapps. It is very smooth to the palate, and in tni? respect compar< s favourably with other samples offered for eale. It may be advised as equally! saitabls for medical or economic purposes. 1 have the honour to be, frc, (Sigted) Wm. Jobnson, Analytical Chemist to the Government of Victoria.
