The Wallace sailed for Wanganui at 11 o'clock this morning. The Lyttelton leaves Wellington for Blenheim to-night. The Charles Edward left for Wellington direct at 4 o'clock tbis afternoon. The Murray left for Westport last evening, and is due there this evening The Kennedy leaves Greymouth this evening, and Westport to-morrow evening, and will arrive here on Sunday morning. The Lady Barkly returned from Golden Bay this afternoon. She sails for the same place to-morrow at noon instead of 3 p.m as advertised. '' The Arawata leaves the Btuff for Melbourne to morrow. The Taiaroa arrived at Wellington at 8 a.m. to-day. The Wellington left Wellington this afternoon, will arrive here to-morrow morning and sail for Taranaki and Manukau at 3 p.m. The signal for « a sail in sight » has been flying all tbe afternoon. ;it will probably turn out to be the Tasso from Newcastle At this period of the year there is always a scarcity of sailors, who find it more profitable to shear sheep and do other station work than plough on the briny deep. Homeward bound vessels especially have a great difficulty in obtaining hands, and already £8 has beeu paid by the master of one ship this season. The Edwin Fox having lost the majority of her crew will have to obtain a fresh supply, and Captain Phease is at his wits ends where to get them. There are none in Nelsou who care about shipping in a lime juicer, so that some other port will have to be sought to obtain a crew for the barque
