Reserved Judgment. — Lord Polkemmet used to describe bis judicial preparations in manner: "Ye see," he would say, " I first read a' thepleadings, and then, after letting them wamble in my wame wi' toddy twa or three days, I gie my am interlocutor." An inquest (says the Titnaru Herald of Thursday) was held, at the Point Hotel, Pleasant Point, yesterday, before Richmond Beetham, Esq., coroner, and a jury, touching the death of a child two years of age named Collett. Prom the evidence it appeared that Mr Collett had inadvertently given the I child a box of lucifer matches to play with, and that the little creature had eaten a number of them, and died from the effects of the phosphorus. A verdict of" Accidental death" was returned. ! Erom late Sydney papers we learn that a man named Crawshaw and his wife were tried at the Central Criminal Court, Sydney, a few days since, for arson/ and after three days' trial fonnd guilty and sentenced to death. The trial created great excitement, as thejprisoners had occupied a very respectable position at Bombala. When the dreadful sentence was pronounced, Mrs Crawshaw fainted and her husband burst into tears. The judge stated that in reporting the case he would recommend a diminution of the punishment, as no lives were lost at the lire, and the female prisoner bad given, the first alarm. It is not generally known that any . persons found guilty of setting fire to any building in which any human beings are contaiued* render themselves liable to be sentenced to death. . In- the heyday and 1 sunshine of life we ' treat' with contempt the' warnings oi; soberminded and well-meaning people ; but when in after years we find we .can no longer trifle with our lives and constitutions, it becomes us to find out for a certainty what are the best, the~surest, and the safest medicines to take in all'cases of sickness or theatening disease. The cures already \ effected,' ; and the testimonials received by the" proprietor, warrant the assertion that -, there are no -known medicine equal to ""Goelah's Great Indian Cures." Sold by all chemists. Holloway's Ointment '"and'" Pills. — Disease of the skin, ringworm, scurvy, jaundice, scrofula or kings evil, sore heads, and the most inveterate skin disease to which the human frame is subject, cannot be treated with a more safe" and certain remedy than Holloway's Ointment and l Pills ■ which act so peculiarly upon the constitution and so purify the blood, that those diseases are at once eradicated from the system, and a lasting - cure obtained. They are equally efficacious in the cure of tumors, burns, scalds, glandulous swellings, ulcerous <wounds, rheumatism, contracted and stiff joints. • These medicines operate mildly but surely!.' The cures effected by them are not temporary or apparent only, but complete and permanent.
