At three o'clock this afternoon | he met tine Mayor and Committee at the Council Chamber for the purpose of discuss- j ing the question of charitable aM. . f The two scholarships offered by the Col- i lego Governors for boys attending the Town j Schools, have been gained by Dryer and Buckeridge, both of them pupils at Mr • J. Hodgson's school at the Saltwater Bridge. The winners of the Provincial Scholarships are not 3'et known owing to the uou-arrival of the West Coast examination papers. It is scarcely necessary to remind our readers thnt Mr and Mrs Darrell, assisted by their numerous and talented company^ will give the first- of their dramatic entertainments at the Theatre Royal to-night, when th& lV Lady of Lyons " will bo put on the stage.
