An easy victory for Kingswell long ;jump, bpen to tit* school— JR Wither (Bft 9in) ; 1- E. Boddirigtbn (Bft 7pn) 2; Vickerinan (Bft 2in) 3. Wither won this rather easily, but the Competition for Secqnd platie was good. 100 Yards Race; open tb v al_l under ii . years— Young 1; Reader 2 This was a well contested race, Reader being a good . second. Time 14secs. Running Long .Tump; open to all under 14 years— A. Seymour (15ft Gib) 1; .G. Pearce 2. A very exciting contest between Pearce , and Seymour, the latter winning by a good juinpof 14ft Gin. . : . - ! *Hop, Step, and Jump} open to the school ~U. Wither ij Vickerniatt2; E. Boddington 8. A repetition of No. 2, Wither making a splendid jump of 39ft 3in. 220 Yards Race; open to all under 12 years; (prize presented by Mr Eneel) Engel 1 ; Young 2 This was a tame affair, Engel going oft with the lead and keeping it throughout. 440 Yards Race; open- to- all under 16 years— H. Boddinglon 1; A. Seympur 2. "Won easily. Time, lmiu 9£ sees. ' ' , /"Running High Jump- open tb the school — li. 'Wither (sf t lin) 1 ; E. Boddington (4ft 11 in) 2; H. Boddington (4ft lOin) 2. Wou ; by a good jump of sft lin. :.: ; 100 Yards; open to ail under 15 years — A Seymour 1; Cotterell 2. Time 13-} sees. - High Jump; open to all comers — J. Askew (sft 3in) 1; Barnicoat (sft. lin) 2: In this event, which lay between Barnicoat and Askew, some exceedingly good jumping was shown, Askew eventually winning with a jump of sft 3in. *100 Yards Race ; open to School— R Wither, I; ,, Rout, 2; Vi'ckerttfaD, 3.' This was a splendid race, all six competitors being in a cluster at the finish!. Wither won a clever race, Vickerman and Rout being almost a tie for second place. Time, 12secs. . Feats on Hoiizontal Bar- open to School— J. Pearce, 1; G. Seymour, 2. This is the first timettm event has been included in the College sports, and we must congratulate the competitors on the way in which they performed. The first prize was won by J. Pearce, a little fellow twelve years old, who -.performed most gracefully. Seympur, who obtained second honors, was also very good. *High Jump with Pole; open to School— \ E. Boddington, 1; G. Seymour, 2; Vickerman, 3. Boddingtou, in his usual graceful manner, cleared nine feet/and was not asked to do more. 100 Yards Race; open to All Comer^-A. Askew, 1; J. Askew. 2.. This race' 'was originally won by Barnicoat, but a protest being entered by Richmond, on. /the .grounds of a false.start, it was allowed by the Committee, and the race was run, again, Askew winning Time ll£secs. 220 Yards Race; open to all under 13 yeara-A. Wither, 1; J. Pearce, 2! Time, 34sec3. . ; Hop, Step, and Jump: open to All Comers— Barnicoat (41ft sin), 1; F. H. Richmond (38 feet), 2. Barnicoat won this by a splendid jump; otherwise it was a tame affair. *Running Long Jump; open to School— Wither.(l9ft), 1; E. Boddington (18ft 4in), 2; Andrew (I6ft Bin), 3. ' Withers good jump of 19 feet took this easily, none of the others coming near him. Hop, Step, and Jump; open to all under sft Sin— Evans (32ft Biu), I; A. Seymour (31ft sin), 2. Teiryoungsters started for this, all, of whom jumped well, Eyaus takiug it in his first jump. " ■■ ■ Mile Race; open , to School— R V;ither, 1; E. Boddington, 2; Rout, 3. Wither, .went away afc a great pace, but Boddington.jwljo bad been reserving himself— apparently too long— ran him closest the finish. Time, 2mins 65 Jsecs. ' . - Ruriuing High Jump, open to all under sft.,3in— A. Wither (4fi 7 Jin), l- Everett, 2. Wither and Everett showed some good jumping, the former winning. ', -" . High Jump with Pole ; open to All Comers— E. Boddington (9ft 7in), 1; Curtis, 2. Boddington and Curtis jumped well. At 9ft 7iu, which he cleared, Boddington fell and hurt himself, whereupon Curtis generously retired, giving him the prize. We are glad to hear that Curtis received an extra prize. : *Hurdle Race, 120 yards; open to School— R. Wither, 1 ; Rout, 2; Vickerman, 3. Wither went off with the lead, his long legs clearing the hurdles in fine style, aud he was never called upon. Time, 21;fsecs. Hurdle Race*,. .2o yards; open to All Comers— J.; Askew, 1; Hodgson* 2; F: H. Richmond, 3. Askew and Richmond went ■ off. with the star^ .keeping; neck and, neck the greater part of tbe distance, when Askew i gradually drew ahead. . Hodgson then crtme up with a rush,; .and <v fine race ensued for second place, Askew securing it. : : .The Cup was won by U. WitheE with 68 points, E. Boddington being second with 45 points, and Rout beating Vickerman for third place ; by two points.. The victor was very popular, and the announcement was received with loud cheers. The prizes were distributed by Mrp Sharp at the finish of the sports. . Three cheers were then given 'for that lady, and the visitors dispersed The sports this year have been , unusually, good, especially the jumping, which formed the chief attraction.
