England was now on friendly terms with Russia whose recent explanation in reft- rence to the mission to Cabul was considered satisfactory. The House of Commons agreed to an adjournment of the debate on Mr "Whitebread's motion for a vote of censure on the policy of the Government regarding Afghanistan.
