She was in the Bay last evening, but not account of the heavy sea rnnning Captain Greager did not deem it advisable to venture too close down, and he consequently dodged off and on until this morning. The Awaroa brings a cargo of live stock. The iron ketch Argus arrived in harbor this morning from Wanganui, having left there on Monday evening. She experienced the full force of the gale last evening in the Bay in company with the Awaroa. We understand that the Argus has been purchased by Mr Burford, and is to be employed in the coasting trade, for which she is well adapted, being able to carry a large cargo on a light draught of water.
