This Compsny is formed for two objects :— Ist and chitfly. For lending money at currenfraUs of intere't upon the secuiity of landed property situated within the Colony of New Zealand ; and 2nd. For acquiring, when deemed advisable, landed property situated in or near to cities or towns, or centres of population, in the Colony of Hew Zealand, and • thereafter selling it again in whole or in lots as may suit purchasers. With a fast increasing population both in town and country, a very fine climate, and land of great fertility, opened op by the construction of roads ani railways, there is an almost inexhaustible field for the profitable investment of money in the manner proposed by thiß Company, and it is one very litl'.e occupied. This Company intends to occupy that field, and to effer to'the public— particularly to farmer-settlers acd the working population generally— facilities for acquiring property or for erecting houses, or effectiug ether substantial improvements thereon on reasonably moderate terms. And the Company can do so profitably to the Shareholders, while at the same time help is given to people who are willing to pay adequately for the advantages and accommodation effered. In no ease will morey be lent otherwise than on the security of landed property a Bafe margin being always hept. ' The system which prevails all over the Colony in the buying of land, is that of de ferred payment of the price,— so much being paid as a deposit when the purchase is made, and the remainder by bills for instalments' spread over a limited period of frcm one to three year?, the title being only granted when the price is fully paid up. This Company, in consequence of being in a position fo pp.y in cash at once, will certainly be able to buy property on much more favorable terms than havers on deferred payments ; and it ia certain thht by the exercise of ordinary care, a fafe and very profitable kind of business can be done by buying land and selling it again in lots to suit purchasers. It is very well known <hat Companies in New Zealand having objects similar to those of this Company have been able, notwithetanGiutf very limited resources, tot only to pay lEr b 'a dividends but also to add to capital. It is not intended to call tip more than £1 per share, at the outset »t least. The Promoters consider that, with JOs per Share paid up, the Company may make a fair beginningand they confidently anticipate that, besides paying a good dividend to Shareholders, the Directors will also by judicious Investments in landed property, be able from time to time, ODt of profits, to make additions to Capital. The turn over of the Capital will be quick and there will no doubt be available soon a considerable amount of money from deposits made by people both at Home and in New Zealand, so that a large paid-up Capital is not necessary. Prospectuses, with Forms of Application for Shareß, may be obtained at the OfHcss of the Company, or from the Bankers at the Office, or at any of the Branches; or from the Union Bank of Australia, Nelson ; and the Memorandum and Articles of Association may be seen ia the baads of the Secre-. tary. Should no Allotment be made, the Deposit will be returned without any deduction. Lloyd's Rooms, Brandon-street, Wellington, October, 1878. 3292
