Lowthian and ' Wilson; Ellesmere Association, Mr Boweb; North Otago Association, Hon. M. Holmes, Messrs H. Connell and Hedley; Tokamairiro Farmers' Club, Messrs G. Capstick, Parker, and J. W. Perrier; Dunedin Association, Messrs Bell and A. Brydone ; Southland : Association, Mr Martin; Timaru Association, Messrs H. Belfield, M'lntosh.aud J. El worthy. On the motion of the Hon. J. Hall the Hon. M. Holmes took the chair and delivered a most exhaustive and interesting address' Mr Grigg moved that the thanks of the meeting be given to the president for his admirable address, and the committee to be appointed bo requested to make arrangements for the early publication of the same in some of the agricultural journals of the colony, which was agreed to, Mr Duncan undertaking that it should appear in the New Zealand Country Journal. After some discussion the following resolutions were carried' nem con :— (1). "That in the opinion of this meeting the time has arrived when it is desirable that a 4 General Agricultural Society' should be established for the Middle Island of New Zealand, the object of which shall be the promotion of agricultural interests by holding in various parts of the colony periodical exhibitions of stock, produce, and various manufactures connected with agriculture, and by disseminating information on the subject of practical farming in the colony." (2), That this meeting shall be incorporated in accordance with the provision of the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act, 1877, and that its name shall be the National Agricultural Society of New Zealand, and that it shall consist of members paying a subscription of one guinea per year or a life subscription of 10 guineas. The office-bearers shall consist of a. President, Vice-President, General Committee of 30, Treasurer, Secretary, and two auditors. (3). That the Ijetwj quarters of the Society, be at

(70 lhat a Committee be now appointed for the purpose of carrying but the above resolutions, and for the preparation of a draft ■constitution and rules of the Society., That the Committee be recommended to take such steps as foay- be necessary to obtain the written consent of the members of the Society to being incorporated under tbe provisions of the Act. (8 ) That the following gentlemen form the Committee, with power to add to their number:— Messrs Brydone, Bellfield, Martin, Bell, M'lntosh, Parker, Hedley, Connell, Grigg, Duncan, Bourne, Oliver, Hon Holmes and lion Hall. (9.) That in the opinion of this meeting the objects of the Society are of such national importance as to give it a strong claim upon the Government of the colony for pecuniary and other assistabce in discharge of its duties. — Hearty votes of thanks to the .President' and to the Northern Association of Oamara for their services in inaugurating the Koyal Association of New Zealand were carried unanimously. —Mr Sutton's prize two-tooth ram. which took the first prize at the ShowJ was sold for 100 guineas to so to Victoria: ...
