The Edwin Fox will be towed into harbor to-morrow morning. The Wallace leaves Blenheim for Nelson to-day. The Murray left for West Coasfc ports at 9 o'clock thia morning. The Charles Edward left- for Wauganui at 4 o'c'ofk this moruing. The Kennedy escaped from Westport last eveniug, and arrived at Hokitika thia morning. The Lady Barkly returned from Golden Bay this afternoon. The Wellington leaves for Pieton and Wellington at 5 o'clock to-night. The Tanpo sailed for Tar&naki and Manukau at 6 p.m. yesterday. The Wallabi sailed for Greymouth this morning. As the wind is now inclined to he more from the north, it is probable that she will get round the Spit. Captain John M*Lean has been appointed ship's husband to the Union S.S. Company, stationed at Williatnstown. A bottle containing a document cast adrift from the barque River Leven, in lat. 45 45 S long. 133 33 X, on the lStb February last, was found by a native at Otaki on Wednesday, signed by the Eev. Johnston Walker. The Ringarooma arrived in harbor this morning at 6.45. She left Melbourne on the 13th instant, and reached Hobarton on the 15th; sailed the same day, and arrived at the Bluff on Tuesday morning; called at Port Chalmers and LytteUon, and reached Wellington yesterday morning; sailed at 6 p.m., came round the Island, and arrived here as above. Experienced 3trong head wiuds across the Straits. Mr Jones, an old favorite in the Melbourne and New Zealand trade, is purser of the Ringarooma this trip. The Hingarooma is the last steamer that will visit these waters flying M'Meckan & Co.'s flag. She returned to Melbourne via Wellington and South by the same tide shortly before eight o'clock. The Mad Cap, now due from Port Louis, cannot be far off thia port if she bad anything like favorable weather, as the German barquentine Hong Kong, which left that port six days before her, arrived at Port Chalmers on Monday last. Two other vessels which left about the same time as the Hong Kong, have also arrived in New Zealand. A Sydney telegram to the Post of Thursday says :— The strike of the seamen in the employ of the A.S.N. Company's still continueß, in consequence of the firm refusal on the part of the company to comply with the demand of the seamen that all the Chinese at present employed by the company should be dismissed. The seamen on strike are now endeavoring to prevent the colliers supplying the company with coal for their steamers. 1 he company in retaliation are about to close their steam work 3, which will have the effect of throwing 300 men out of employment.
