Tho Lady Barkly sailed for Golden Bay ! last evening. The Maori, which left here on Wednesday, •was lying at Totoranui yesterday. The Kennedy ia still detained'nfc Westport by the S.W. gale. V ) The Charles Edward leaves for Wanganui at 4 o'clock to-morrow morning. The Wallace leaves Wellington for Blenheim at C o'clock this evening. The Otaki bar having somewhat improved the Lyttelton will likely complete her month's service. '< The sailing of the Murray for Westport is again postponed on account of the S.W. gale raging on the Coast till 7 o'clock to-morrow morning. The Taiaroa arrived at Wellington at 3 n.m. to-day. She leaves there for Lyttelton this afternoon. The Arthur Wakefield aud Ocean Bird are lying at Totamnui.' The Kingarooma leaves Wellington this evening, will arrive here to-morrow morning and return to Melbourne via Wellington aud South by the same tide at half-past seveu. The Wellington arrived iv harbor at 6.30 this morning, having left Wellington yesterday afternoon. She returns to Picton and Wellington at 5 p.m to-morrow. The Wallabi returned to port early this" morning, not having yet been able to get round the Spit owing to the prevalence of S.W. weather. The Taupo arrived in harbor this morn ing at 6.30. She left Port Chalmers at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, and arrived at Lyttelton at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, sailed at 4.30 p.m., and reached Wellington at 10 am. yesterday; left at 4.30 p.m , came round the island, and arrived here as above. Fresh head winds were experienced throughout the passage Ur Grant, late of the Wakatipu, is purser of lhe Taupo, he having exchanged berths with Mr Ponsonby. The Taupo sailed for Tara- | naki and Mauukau at 5 p.m. A valuable addition will shortly be made to our already large coasting fleet. The Croydon Lass, a topsail schooner of some 51 tons register, has been purchased by Mr. Moss Davis, and is now due at the Bluff from Melbourne. From there she proceeds ! to Lyttelton, thence to Nelson. The Croy- ! don Lass was built at Launceston, Tasmania, j last year, and is of the following dimensions' —Length overall, 75 feet; keel, 68 feet l ip -J breadth 17 feet 9. in.; depth of hold, 7 feet! She i 3 constructed of hardwood, and will < carry 95 tons on a draught of 7 ±t. We have been- shown a photograph of the schooner, ond she appears to be a handsome vessel, and well adapted for the coasting trade. ' She is classed Al at Lloyd's for 14 years. Captain Curran, late of the Arthur Wakefield, will take charge of the Croydon Lass on her arrival at the Bluff. - - ■ - ■ '
