The Charles Edward arrived at Greymouth from Hokitika this morning. The Murray left Westport for Nelson this morning. She will sail for the Coast on Friday with the Sao Francisco mail. The Wellington arrived at Wellington at 8 a.m. to-day. The Ladybird may he expected here from "Wellington and South on Friday morning. The Australia arrived at Auckland from Honolulu last evening, and left there for Sydney this morning. The Albion leaves Melbourne for New Zealand ports to-day. She will not cali nt Nelson. The Woodbine, which \va9 towed to the outer anchorage by the Wallace yesterday afternooD, still remains there. The Taiaroa leaves Onehunga at 4 p.m. to-day. As she has the San Francisco mail on board she will hurry down the coast, aud leave here for Wellington and South shortly after arrival.
The Helen Denny is rapidly discharging her cargo at Napier, and will shortly commence loading for London. It will probably be early in December before she sails for that port. The Kennedy has been placed on the hard for the purpose of being cleaned. Her mainmast being in a rotten condition has "been taken out, and a new one will be supplied her. She will sail for West Coast ports ■via Motueka on Monday morning. The Ocean Bird, bound from Lyttelton to Charleston, which put in here some weeks ago through stress of weather, returned to port last evening, having been unable to fulfil her mission. Nothing but bad weather has been experienced since the vessel left here. Our telegrams announce the wreck of the City of Auckland at Otaki. She is a composite ship of 780 tons, and was built in Sunderland in 18C9, and classed Al for 16 years. She is owned by Messrs Scuart and Simpson, and is under charter to Messrs Shaw, Saville & Co.
