The Taiaroa arrived alongside the Government Wharf last evening at 10.20. She left Onehunga at 11.30 a.m. on Wednesday, and arrived off New Plymouth at 7 a.m. yesterday; on account of the heavy sea running the surf boat was unable to put off, and as there was no probability of communicating with the shore until late in the day, the Taiaroa proceeded on to Nelson, arriving here as above. Experienced strong S.W. winds with heavy sea during the passage across the Straits. It was intended that the Taiaroa should sail by the same tide, but Mr Burton not caring about landing his horses just then, her departure was postponed until this morning, when she sailed for Wellington and South at 11 o'clock.
