Wellington, Wednesday. To>day a motion was agreed to that free passes be granted on the railways of the South Island to volunteers on the Prince of Wales' birthday to enable them to attend the general review at Dunedin. A return was ordered of all free passes on railways. Thursday. At the evening sitting, the Riverton Harbor Endowment and Borrowing Bill and Inch Clutha Bill, as amended, passed through Committee.— The Greymouth Race Course Reserve Bill was committed, amended, and reported.-The Hamilton Public Hall Bill was amended and reported. — The Malvern Water Race Bill wa3 read the third time and passed.— The Timaru High School Bill was amended in accordance with the Local Bills Committee's report. The Electoral Bill was further considered in Committee. — Mr Waterhouse contended that a provision should be made in clause 2G for ratepayers renewing the registration every year. After some discussion, the clause passed as printed.— Col. Whitmoee said the Government were prepared to admit an amendment on clause 27, that the rolls be made up after each general election. — The following sub-section was added to clause 30 : " Leaseholders shall make claim in the form numbered 2 in the Schedule." Clauses 30 to 115 passed without material amendment. Progress was reported, and the Council then adjourned.
