Resolved, That the Secretary ascertain if any end what quantity of Mr Chapman's land has been taken for the new roaJ, and in the event of any being taken io offc;r him a reasonable price for the same. Resolved, That in the event of necessary work being required in any Sub-district, and no funds at the time standing to the credit of such Subdiatrict, the work may nevertheless be done, and ibe cost charged against the Sub-district, proviJiog the cost of such work shall not exceed the amount of one year 'B rate?. Druramond read, drawing attention to the faulty Btste of some of ihe bridges on the road leading to their property, and stating that they should hold the Board responsible for any accident that might happen on such bridges. Resolved, That the Board regrets Messrs Drummond have cot called attention to the bridges in a moro courteous manner, and that the Secretary inspect the road referred to for the purpose of considering the advisability of closing the sume if found dangerous, as there are no fuuds for the maintenance of such roade, unless the persons interested choose, to contribute towards the coat of the same. Resolved, That the dangerous bridges on the old Trunk road between Sarau and Neudorf be taken up, leaving sufficient only for foot traffic, and that noiiceß bo posted up cautioning horsemen of tue state of the road, and also that the road be repaired for a foo»---patb.
