ANISEED VALLEY COPPER MINK.

Some of the prcmo'ers visited the Aniseed Valley Copper Mine yesterday, anil were thna enable by observation to test iha Bccurncy of the Managua report. We understand that tbey were much gratified with what »bey saw, nnd hove resolved to push on the work of getting out stone for shipment to Sydney, nnd of thoroughly testing 'the mine by cross-cuts at different Fevela. Nothing will be done towards forming a joint-stock company until the resuk of all these testa ia known. A small parcel of stone frorn ihe new lode Is to be sent to Dr Hector to he analysed, eotne of the promoters thinking it contains a large percentage of silver. The folio wiDg is the Manager's Report :— Aniseed Valley, Sep. 25, 1878. To the Managing Committee. Gentlemen, — On taking charge of your mine I went through the old workingp. I found in No. 1 working that a winze had beeo put down 25ft on the course of ihe late [ode, which, upon examination, I found showe 1 copper all the way down. I have opened up this winz?, and found the lodo about 6in. In No. 2 working a cros3-cut baa been driven 66ft, and cut the lode at this point, I am inforrned a rich deposit of ore was taken out. On examining the bottom of this level I found a hard bar about Oft thick had cut the lode out to about balf-an-iacb, I found that a soft belt of country was underlying 1 towards the lode, and would cut the hard, belt out. This is the spot where (he lode ia suppos9d to have run cut. I commenced Jo sink a winze opposite the croes-cuf, and got throueh Ihe hard belt at one end about sft from the main level, and cut splendid copper ore, the lode being about one foot thick, and appearing to be widening as it goes down The first thing I advise to be done is that a rise be put up from No. 2 to No 1 workings — that will give ventilation and facility for Btoping out the ore instead of hauling it up with a windlass, After this is completed, I see nothing to stop the mine from making returns. I also recommend thut a low level be started at once to Intereeet the lode. This crosscut would have to be driven about 150h, and would cive the Company over 100ft of backs to stope out at the line of lode from No. 2 workings. Upon examining the river, I found such traces as induced me fo partially divert the Btreßm, when I found what appears to be a lurge lode, running parallel with ihe other. I took out some excellent specimens ot copper ore which I forworded to you last Saturday. To prove the value of this lode, as soon as the low level crosscut has been driven about 30ff, a chamber should be cut on one side of the drive, and a winze sunk and driven from the bottom to ihe stream to intersect the lode. I consider the prospects or the company most encouraging. Copper ore can be eeeo from the surface in different places to a depth of 150ff. The best feature of this mine is that the lode, (hough narrow oo the surface is steadily increasing in siza as it goes down. This is one of the most usual indications of a permanent lode. — I am, etc., E. Thomas, Manager.
