The Awaroa leaves Wanganui for Nelson this afternoon, with 13 head of cattle and 50 sheep. The schooner Pelican, which left here last Saturday for Greymouth, was seen by the St. Kilda yesterday afternoon going into Totaranui. The Wellington sails for Wellington via Picton this afternoon. She leaves the former port on the return trip on Monday afternoon, will arrive here on Tuesday morning, and sail by the same tide at 8 a.m. for Picton and Wellington. The signal for " a sail in sight " has been flyinir all the day. It will probably be one of the colliers which left here on Thursday, and which are reported to be still in the Bay. Captain Williams, of Wellington, has purchased the barque Sophia R. Luhrs, and intends placing her in the coal trade. The amount he paid for her has not transpired, but it is believed to be £6000. The Wanaka arrived in harbor this morning at 5 o'clock. She left Port Chalmers at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, and arrived at Lyttelton at 8.15 a.m. on Thursday; sailed at G p.m. same day, and reached Wellington at 11.15 a.m. yesterda)', left at 7 p.m., and arrived here as above. As her stock of water was running short yesterday Captain Plowerday determined to put back to Nelson. She took m a quantity of fodder and water this afternoon, and afterwards resumed her voyage.
