The Nelson, which left Oamaru on Thursday last, ought soon to be showing up. The Arthur Wakefield finished discharging her cargo this afteruoon. The St. Kiida was seen lost evening shaping a course for Totaranui. _ The Chaudiere still lies at anchor at Wellington waiting for seamen, of whom she •wants two more before she can proceed to sea. The Hawea left Onehunga this morning at 11.30, will arrive here tomorrow evening, and sail nt noon on Thursdny for Wellington and South. The whereabouts of the Maori is not known, and therefore she may turn up here at any moment. The Tasso and Woodbine finished discharging their cargoes to-day. Both vessels will probably sail for Newcastle to-morrow, so that another race may be anticipated. The Goldseeker is undergoing repairs alongside the Corporation Wharf. With a view of strengthening hcrscveral iron frames have been inserted in the place of wooden timbers. When finished she will be placed in charge of Captain Hobbs. An enquiry into tbe circumstances attending the loss of the schooner Merlin has been held by the Collector of Customs. The evidence taken, which was in effect the same as that published by us yesterday, will he forwarded to Wellington. The Wellington arrived in harbor this morning at 10.30. She left Wellington at 1 p.m. yesterday and reached Picton at 7.30 p.m.; sailed at 10 p.m., called at Durville's Island and landed some passengers, arriving here as above. Experienced strong N.W. ■winds last evening. We notice that Mr Holloway, formerly chief officer of the Beautiful Star, now fills a similar portion on hoard the Wellington. She returned to Picton via Wellington at 1.15 p.m.
