The Lady Barkly sails for Golden Bay at 5 p.m. to-day. The Awaroa is announced to sail for Wanganui to-morrow. The steamer Torea is now laid up at Blenheim. c The Alhambra will be due at Hokitika from Melbourne to-morrow morning. The Sisters is loading with iron rails at the Government Wharf for Waitapu. The Wallace arrived at Wellington this morning, and will leave for Nelson this evening. The sailing of the Murray for New Plymouth has been postponed until to-morrow morning on account of bad weather. The Charles Edward arrived at Hokitika this morning, and will sail for Greymouth to-morrow. She reports boisterous westerly weather. The Wanaka leaves Onehunga to«day, will arrive here to-morrow evening, and sail for Wellington and South on Thursday. The Pelorus was inspected by the Government Inspector of Machinery to-day, and pronounced to be in a satisfactory condition. The Pelican was placed on the cradle this morning for the purpose of being cleaned. Her destination is at present unknown. A topsail schooner, supposed to be the Creat of the Wave, bound for Greymouth, ■was lying at Tonga when the Phoenix passed yesterday. The French barque St. Louis arrived at rott Chalmers last week from Bordeaux after a passage of 112 days. She brings 700 tons of wines, brandies, etc. The Wellington arrived in harbor this morning at 7.30. She left Wellington at 130 p.m. yesterday, and reached Picton at 630 p.m., sailed at 9.30 p.m., and arrived here as above. Experienced fine weather as far as the French Pass, thence strong N.W winds with heavy sea. The Wellington returns to .Picton and Wellington at 7 p.m. The captain of tbe barque Elizabeth has again been figuring in the Police Court at We.lington. On Friday last he was charged before the Magistrate with using threatening language towards the mate. The captain was bound over to keep the peace for three months.
