The last division of profits took place in 1874, and the cash surplus then divided amounted to £235,000, giving additions to policies averaging £3 per cent per annum ou the sum assured. The bonuses paid on policies becoming claims have varied from £15 per cent on the sum assured for a policy of five years' standi* g to £150 per cert for one of twentyfive j ears' duration Bonuses become veste t additions to policies when they have teen full five years in force.
