The Lady Barkly leaves on her usual trip to Golden Bay at 5 p.m. to-day. The Lyttelton crossed the Wairau bar this morning, and may be expected here early to-morrow The Murray will make a trip from Waitara to Manukau- with stock before returning to Nelson. The Taranaki was unable to communicate -with the shore at New Plymouth, and passed on to Onehunga. The tonnage loading on the berth at London for Australia and New Zealand on ,lune 6 amounted to 70.155 tons. The Arthur Wake-field arrived at Oamaru at the latter end of next week, but has not yet been able to get a berth. The Richard and Mary, from Colling\vood,hadnot arrived there un to yesterday. The Rinproomn has 3G tons of cargo and the following passengers for Nelson: -Mr and Mrs Lord. Mr and Mrs Webb family and servant Sho left the Bluff for Dunedin at 4 p.m. yesterday. The Awaroa. bound for Wanganui, was towed to sea by the Lady Barkly this morn ing. Favored with a strong SW. wind she was quickly out of sight, and if the wind keeps up ought to reach her destination tomorrow. The master of the barque Vixen was recently charged at Oamaru with neglecting to make the necessary report required by Customs within .24 hours after the arrival of the vessel, and was fined £25. The Wallace arrived in harbor this morning at 9 o'clock. She left Nelson at 1.30 p.m. on Saturday last, and experienced a strong N.W. wind in the Straits, arriving at Wellington at 10 30 pm on Sunday; sailed at 5 p.m. yesterday, and had strong' westerly winds all night, arriving here as above. The Wallace will sail for Wanganui at 5 p.m. tomorrow. The Union Company's s.s. Wellington, Captain M'Gee, arrived in harbor this morning at 8 o'clock. She left Wellington at 3.30 p.m. yesterday, and reached Picton at 8.30 p.m.; sailed at 10 p.m., and arrived here as above. Experienced strong westerly winds with heavy sea last evening. The Wellington returns to Picton and Wellington at 7 o'clock to-night. One of the blue jackets of IT.M.S. Sappho lost his life by drowning while that vessel was engaged in surveying among the islands in the North. While engaged in fishing on one of the islands he slipped off the bank into the water, and before any help could reach him the strong current had carried him down, and he did not rise again. Three of the apprentices of the barque Kentish Tar ran away from the vessel last evening. The police having been acquainted ■with the matter have been on the scent the whole of to-day, but without discovering the young runaways. The vessel is now left with only one forecastle hand, the four seamen who recently figured in the Police Court having made a '•' bolt " of it the second day after they were released from custody A strong N.W. gale raged at Wellington on Saturday night and Sunday. The Plcione, Chaudiere, and Firth of Forth received some damage by bumping against the wharf. One of the boats of 11.M.5. Nymph broke adrift on Sunday, and a number of blue jackets manned another boat and went after her. The heavy sea running in the harbor capsized the boat, and its occupants were compelled to swim ashore, but observing that the boat had righted, they proceeded, after recovering wind, to swim out to her, and succeeded in bringing both boats ashore.
