The Queen's prize was won by a private of the 11th Stirling Volunteers with 78 points There was an increased attendance. In the match with Leicestershire, the first innings of the Australians closed for 130; Bannerman 15, Murdoch 16, Horan 1, Gregory i' 3, Garrett 7, Spofforth 5, Bailey 0, Allen 5, Conway 12, Boyle 8, Blackhaui, not out> 27, sundries 9. A. Bannerman was unable to play through an accident to his hand. In the Leicestershire second innings four were out for 127. There were 14,000 spectators present. July 17. The President of the Paris Exhibition recommends the gold medal to Sydney for wool. The grand prize goes to South Australia for wheat. At Wimbledou in the rifle match Lords v. The following are the scores of the Australians in their second innings :—Murdoch, 24; C. Bacnerman, 133; Horan, Dot out 60; Gregory, not out, 3; sundries 10. The Australians won with eight wickets to go down. Bannerman's batting was superb.
