Captain Edwin reports :— " Watch barometer; bad weather approaching any direcbetween north acd west and south west, with further fall of glass." The Kennedy sailed ior Wellington this afternoooo. The Murray is discharging at Opunake today, and may be expected to-morrow. The Wallace leaves Wanganui for Nelson this evening. Tbe Lyttelton, from Blenheim, was signalled when we went to press. The Lady Barkly returned from Golden Bay this afternoon. Neither the Maori nor Stella are yet reported as having arrived at Westport. The Taiaroa was unable tocross the Manukau bar yesterday afternoon. The Mary Ogilvie finished discharging yesterday, and was ballasted to-day < She will probably get to sea to-night. . . , The Helen Denny left London for Nelson on May 17. Captain Roth is still in command of her. The Taranaki leaves Lyttelton for Wellington to-day. , She will not come to Nelson this trip, but proceed direct from Wellington to New Plymouth. The Wellington leaves Wellington tbis afternoon, will arrive here to-morrow morning, and after landing cargo will proceed across to the Boulder Bank for tbe purpose of being cleaned and painted. She returns to Wellington via Picton on Saturday. A signal for a barque has been flying all the afternoon, but as tbere is no vessel of that description- expected here at present, it will probably be come passing vessel that has got driven into the bay. We mentioned yesterday tbat the Tararua left Melbourne for New Zealand on Friday last. This appears to have been a mistake, as onr telegrams to-day announce her as, leaving yesterday. The Alhambra was to leave to-day, and as tbis is the day on wbich the Albion was, to have "sailed ifc is probable tbat the first named vessel will make Hokitika her first port of call. In answer to numerous, enquiries we may state tbat the Kentish Tar was built in Sutherland, and is about 18 months old/ TbiV is .her second voyage, her first one having been from London to tbe Cape, thence to Batavia, Penang, New York, and Queenstown, and from there back to London. The Mabel Clarke, a large American ship of 1770 tons, which was wrecked at Tristau d'Acunha on May 12, left London 13 days before the Kentish Tar, and the latter vessel passed, tbe island two days before the American vessel was wrecked. . ! . ; - A melancholy incident occurred on board the barque Firth of Forth which recently arrived at Wellington from London, on 'the passage out. The. second L officer, named Thomas Bay, was seized with a fit of temporary insanity, and believed that everyone on board was trying to poison him. It was with the greatest dhßculty that he was made to eat his food. The poor fellow is now in the Lunatic Asylum at Wellington. 7
