The Charles Edward left for West Coast ports at 6 p.m. yesterday. The Wallace sailed for Wanganui at 11 o'clock last night. - .■-.'■;-. The Lyttelton left Blenheim for Nelson via Durville's Island this morning. . v The Murray has discharged her cargo at New Plymonth, and is awaiting a favorable opportunity of working Opunake. The Kennedy arrived from West Coast ports this morning. Sbe sails for Wellington at 2 p.m. to-morrow. The Ocean Bird has been put on the hard for the purpose of having her false keel replaced. The Mary Ogilvie will finish discharging this afternoon. • .■••' The Kvik will probably haul alongside the Albion Wharf tomorrow. The Stella was to proceed from the Sandspit Lighthouse to Westport, but it is probable that she would not be able to ronnd the Spit in the face of the strong S.W. wind that was blowing tbere yesterday. The Wellington arrived at Wellington early this morning. She leaves there on the return trip at 1 p.m. to-morrow, will arrive here early on Friday morning, and sail for Picton and Wellington on Saturday. The Taiaroa leaves Onehunga this afternoon, and if the weather i 3 fine off Taranaki to-morrow wili land her large batch of cargo for that place, which has-been carried to and fro by the Taranaki and her. She will arrive here on Friday morning and sail for Wellington and South in the afternoon. The schooners Arthur Wakefield and Uno, both bound for Wellington, were/together with a host of other vessels, lying at Cloudy Bay on Saturday, having run there for shelter;
The Tararua left Melbourne for New Zealand ports on Friday last in tbe place of the Claud Hamilton. The latter steamer would probably leave to-day direct for the West Coast instead of the Albion, while the Alhambra may be expected to take the Tarawa's place, and leave to-morrow, r Captain Brown, the newly appointed commander to the steamer Chimborazo, has been fined, J25 and costs at the Sydney, Police Court for knocking a fireman overboard while proceeding from the wharf to the steamer in a steam 'launch/ '----- ' j • The Union Company's s.s. Maori, Captain Bernech, arrived in harbor this morning at 1 o'clock. She left Dunedin at 9 a.m. on Sunday, .cleared, the Heads, at 10.30 ra.pi., and experienced strong westerly winds, 1^ arriving at Lyttelton at 7 a.m. on Monday- took in 40 tons of cargo for the West Coast and sailed at 4 p.m. same day, had strong head winds with heavy head sea to the Pass where Bhe anchored to wait for the tide for two hours, afterwards coming on to Nelson, arriving here as above. The Maori, after taking in a stock of coals, sailed for West Coast ports at noon.
