Captain R. A. Edwin reports:— "Watch barometer; bad weather approaching from any direction between north and west and aouth-west. The glass will fall again very soon."

The Lyttelton arrived at Blenheim this morning.

The Murray made her escape from Greymonth this afternoon, and sailed direct for Kelson. The Charles Edward, for Westport, probably got out at the same time.

The Kennedy reports from Hokitika:— ** Heavy sea; no defined channel. Cannot sail till great improvement." The Eingarooma arrived at the Bluif on Tuesday.

The Lady Barkly leaves for Golden Bay this evening.

The Taiaroa left Wellington at 2 p.m. today. She will arrive here late this evening, and sail for Taranaki and Manukau at 1 p.m. to-morrow.

The Hinemoa is expected to arrive here from Wellington en Sunday. The Richard and Mary still lies near the French Pass, the winds which have prevailed lately being dead against her. The barque and schooner which have been lying in Totaranui for the last week are still there, but as the weather is now more settled they will probably leave there to-day. The Taranaki left New Plymouth this morning, will arrive here this evening, and sail for Wellington and South to-morrow at 10 a.m.

A signal for " a sail in sight " has been flying a?l the afternoon. It will probably turn cut to be the barque Kvik, from Newcastle.

The Wellington arrived from Pieton and Wellington at 9 a.m. to day. She left the latter port at I p.m. yesterday, and reached Pieton at 7 p.m.; sailed at 10 p.m., and arrived here as above. Experienced fine weather throughout. The Wellington returns to Pieton and Wellington to-morrow at noon.
