RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT BRIGHTWATER.
[Before J. W. Barnicoat, H. Martm jun., G Talbofc, and G. Lightband, Esqs., J.J.P.] BIJRBOW V. COLEKAN. Mr Banny for plaintiff, Mr P. B. Adamß for defendant. This was au action brought to recover the sum of £15, damages for detaining 116 sheep, belonging to the plaintiff. After hearing the evidence, and counsel having addressed the Bench, their worships retired for a few minutes, and, on returning to Court, gave judgment for plaintiff for £1 with costs £3 lla, stating that they thought the defendant had been gnilty of an illegal act, but that the plaintiff had. not suffered much by it. Burrow v. Lodge. Claim for keep of horse for four years. The defendant did not appear. Judgment was given for .£lO, and costs £2 2s. Mr Bunny appeared for the plaintiff. COLEMAN V HOPGOOD. This action was brought to recover the sum of £4 4s 9a damages for trespass of defendant's pigs. Mr P. B. Adams appeared for plaintiff, and Mr Bunny for defendant. The defendant admitted £1 12s 3d as the amount of damage sustained. Judgment was given for plaintiff for £2 3s and costs £1 10s. . Canning v. Borrow. This was an information under the Scab Act adjourned from last Court day. Mr Bunny appeared for defendant. Their Woranips now dismissed the information. One other undefended case concluded the sitting.
