The Lyttelton arrived at Blenheim this afternoon.

The Wallace leaves Waaganui for Nelson to-day. The Murray left Westport for Nelson this afternoon.

The Awaroa sailed for Wanganui this afternoon.

The Kennedy will sail for West Coast ports on the arrival of the Charles Edward on Sunday morning.

The Maori, on her periodical trip round the Middle Island, leaves Dunedin to-day. She will be due here on the 17th.

The Taiaroa leaves Wellington this afterpoon, will arrive here early to-morrow morning, and sail for Taranaki and Manukau at 2 p.m.

The Wellington arrived from Picton and Wellington this morning, having left the former port at 11 p.m. yesterday. She returns to Picton and Wellington at 1 1 a.m. to-morrow.

The p.s. Charles Edward arrived alongside the Albion Wharf this morning at 11.30. She left Nelson at noon on Wednesday, experienced strong N.W. weather and heavy aea until arrival off Taranaki at noon yesterday; discharged cargo and left again at 5.15 p.m. for Nelson, arriving here as above. The Charles Edward sails for Wellington at 7 o'clock this evening, and will leave there to-naorrow with the Nelson and "West Coast portion of the San Francisco mail.

The Union Company's s.s. Taranaki, Capfc. Malclom, arrived in harbor at an early hour this morning. She left Onehunga at 11.20 a.m. on Wednesday, and arrived off New Plymouth early yesterday morning; sailed for Nelson at 11 a.m., and arrived here as above. Experienced thick dkty weather throughout. The Taranaki sailed for Wellington and South shortly after ten this morning, and should reach Wellington this evening;*

The Union Company have decided to increase their fine fleet of steamers by two more boats. One is to run between Lyttelton and Wellington. The model for her is now being prepared, and will shortly be sent home, where the new steamer will be built. Her dimensions are to be 270 feet keel, 28 feet beam, and 26 feet depth of hold, giving 1800 tons builders' measurement. She will be propelled by a screw driven by a pair of engines of 300 horsepower nominal. The high pressure cylinder will be 46 inches in diameter, and the low pressure cylinder 82 inches with a stroke of 4 feet. These engines are to drive her at the rate of 14 knots an hour. The other ateanier is to be a passenger launch, and is to be built in the colony. Her length will be 65 feet keel, 70 feet overall, 12 feet beam, and 6 feet depth of hold, having alight draught of 2 feet 9 inches. She is intended to tender the large steamers of the company, and will probably be stationed on the East coast of the North Island.
