The Government have notified by circular to all tenderers for public works, that owing to the threatening attitude of European affairs, they are not prepared to assume larger liabilities than absolutely necessary, and they postpone accepting any more tenders for public works until more satisfactory intelligence is received from London relative t_ financial matters and the possibility of floating the new loan.
